Day 7

So we've been playing this game for a week now and we've already had our first major twist. The six original tribes just dwindled down to three! And things have turned out ... amazingly ... for the original Nanguluwur tribe.

Nourlangie, Jabiru and Maguk are done. Good bye, see ya later, peace out.

The three remaining tribes (Nanguluwur, Gunlom & Burrunguy) all won Immunity last round. I was particularly happy to have won Immunity because that meant that we got to keep Lex.

While I don't think I would ever team up with Lex, be in an official alliance with him or even trust him more than I can throw him, I knew I didn't get to get rid of him right away. I think I can us him later on. I was also afraid that if we lost Lex, and we didn't switch and lost again ... JT could get Alex and John on his side and have a majority. And possibly vote me out.

JT has been in Ubirr twice. He's proven himself to be social and strong. I think he's probably the biggest target in the game right now. I don't want him to have any more power than he needs.

So, it turns out that the three individuals with the highest points from the winning tribes picked new tribes. That means JT, Gary and Bubba all picked their new tribes.

Somehow, and I have no idea how, all original six Nanguluwur members ended up on NuNanguluwur (say that ten times fast). John already approached me earlier today to confirm that the six of us are sticking together. I naturally said yes.

But, am I really down for that? There are eleven people on our tribe. We have the following new people:

From Burrunguy: Sophie
From Maguk: Ken, Tanya
From Nourlangie: Chase
From Gunlom: Colby

Now ... what's the most interesting part of our tribe?

JT, Sophie, Chase & Tanya have all been to Ubirr. Do I smell a huge alliance between those individuals? Probably.

Uggg. I would bet good amounts of money that JT isn't going to want to target any of those people soon. If we try to keep up the facade of original Nanguluwur sticking together ... it's not looking too good for Ken or Colby.

If either of those two don't man up in the challenge, they'll probably go home. I also need to really get in tight with Sophie, Tanya and Chase ... because I want them to like me more than they like JT.

It's been an interesting and safe twist for me. So right now I'm just going to secure my already established relationships (Lex, Mikey, JT) and try to get some new friends (Sophie, Chase, Tanya), keep some people on my good side (Alex, John) and try to feel out the others (Ken, Colby).

I'm definitely closest with Mikey in this game. We clicked on Day 1, and we've been checking in with one another throughout the game. We both have the same goal: get our asses to the Finals.

Are we in a Final 2/3 deal? No. Will we ever be? Possibly. I'm not running into it. Again, my strategy is to stay flexible and keep my options open. Stay in the spotlight in the beginning of the game, but don't take the lead. I think I'm setting myself up very well. I know Mikey is a gamer, and if I keep close with him, I'm going to stay in the loop.

Mikey let me know that JT was close with Sophie, which was good information. He also told me about Tanya and her drama. So, I'm definitely keeping Mikey close.

We both agreed that JT is kind of the leader right now. He's in the driver's seat and we're all kind of going where he's taking us. This game is going to be a marathon ... no need to sprint out of the gate like JT is doing. He's going to get caught up in himself eventually. Myself and Mikey are just waiting for the right moment ... we both know we need JT now, but that we're going to have to jump ship on him sooner or later.

Mikey noted that he wanted to work with Chase, and that JT doesn't like Chase. So I can already see Mikey and JT starting to clash a little bit ... and being right in the middle of that clash is going to give me the most power.

Sophie didn't really bring anything to the table. I was kind of expecting more from her, seeing as she was close with JT and she went to Ubirr. I think she's laying low because she realizes the position she is in on Nanguluwur ... she's in the minority. She's going to participate in challenges, be social and get on people's good side.

I can see working with her, and I definitely made note to tell JT that I liked her. Because I want JT and Sophie to know that I'll be willing to work with them in the future.

I think I built enough of a bridge to Sophie that she'll try to work with me in the future.

Chase is not social. He's good at challenges and reliable, and apparently did really well in the first Immunity Challenge ... but he did not go out of his way to make me feel comfortable or that we could work together.

But I know he's tight with Mikey, and I'm tight with Mikey. And for us to work together we only really need that one bond at the moment ... so, Chase is a pawn to me right now. I may use him in the future, we may see other ... or I may throw him as a sacrifice to King JT & his Queen Sophie.

Tanya is bat shit crazy.

So the first thing I hear about Tanya, from both JT and Mikey, is that she's looking to throw the challenge to get Jessie on our tribe. And apparently she's going to give Jessie a Hidden Immunity Idol ... or Jessie has one ... or something ridiculous like that.

Ok, Jessie has been on Ubirr for about five minutes ... I seriously doubt she has a HII. So, I'm calling bullshit on Tanya's strategy already.

Apparently Tanya told this to Sophie, who in turn told JT. Further proving my suspicion that JT/Sophie are working together.

Anyways. When I talk to Tanya she's very defensive. She asks why Lex was saved over Adam and why we would keep someone like him. Then she goes on to say 'So you'll vote out Lex if we lose Immunity?'

This girl needs to settle down. She's put such a huge target on herself ... does she realize she's already in the minority of this tribe? Why would you go around telling people you want to lose to vote out someone (Lex) who's in the majority? Crazy.

Anyways. I don't trust her. I think she's sneaky and shifty. She's already distrustful of everyone on original Nanguluwur ... and apparently JT even told her that original Nanguluwur was sticking together.

Colby likes hockey. I'm Canadian. 'Nuff said.

To be honest I'm not a huge hockey fan, but living up in the Great White North makes me competent in various things ... such as our nation's favourite sport. So we got along famously. I really like him and hope we can work together in the future.

Colby is the only Gunlom member on NuNanguluwur. So he's going to try and find some footing as soon as possible. I know he got into JT's good graces too ... so I'm really hoping I can work with him in the future, either just the two of us ... or us and JT ... or us and Mikey and Chase ... whomever. I don't care as long as it benefits me and I have someone interesting and fun to talk to, like Colby.

Kenny seems nice. I'm meeting a lot of new people, so, it's hard to really connect with everyone. I put him in the same boat as Sophie ... seems nice, but, not 100% feeling him. He's one of the only new people here without Immunity, so ... if he needs to go early that will have to be that.

We got along fine and I think a bridge has been built so that we could work together in the future ... which I'd be open to. We'll see what the future has in store for Kenny and I.

King JT has already tried to control NuNanguluwur ... and I love it.

I think JT really likes me. And I do really like JT as well, we get along great and I really respect his game. If he were to make it to the Finals I'd vote for him to win in a heartbeat ... he's strong, outgoing and isn't afraid to play hard. I totally respect that and appreciate it. I love having him on my tribe. I also love how he managed to get all original Nanguluwur people on this tribe ... the boy has mad skills.

But that's what's going to get home taken out of this game. He's too strong and too out there. Everyone is kissing his ass now, but everyone knows we're all just kind of waiting to take him out.

I want to be on his good side for as long as possible. As long as he's here, the target is off me. And I think I've developed strong enough relationships with everyone else to know what's happening in everyone's minds. I think I'm in a great spot.

JT hates Tanya, and wants her gone. He dislikes Chase. He likes Colby. He is desperate to keep the original six Nanguluwurs together. I can read JT like a book and can probably predict his moves. He's great to have around.

JT, Mikey, Sophie, Kenny, Tanya, Chase, Colby and I got together to work on the challenge. Alex and Lex were MIA, and John was able to help out with the challenge, but didn't talk to everyone.

The best part of this challenge was you could see who stepped up to lead, and who was content to just help the tribe win.

Mikey and JT definitely organized. Chase was a cheerleader. Sophie, myself and Kenny were content just working ... and Tanya was, of course, a ball of negative energy ("When is Lex coming?!").

The best part of this discussion? JT actually calling out Tanya, in front of everyone, for throwing it. And NO ONE EVEN ACKNOWLEDGING IT. It was golden. It was not lost on me, and it made me laugh out loud ... on the inside ;-)

It was hilarious. I thought JT was this calm, cool and collected genious. Turns out he's actually crazy. It made my love JT even more.

And Tanya literally just kept working ... it was insane.

At the end of the day the eight of us (nine including John) worked extremely well together.

I'm nervous if we lose ... because the reason we will lose is squarely placed on Lex and Alex. So one of them should go if we lose. The six original Nanguluwur people are going to have a hard time justifying to the others to keep us all together ... because one of those two, Alex or Lex, should really go home.

We could target Tanya for being negative ... but are Sophie/Colby/Chase/Kenny going to buy that? Probably not. And Tanya could play her Idol.

So it's a delicate situation. I don't know what will happen if we lose. Ideally I'd like to see Alex go. I don't get along with him and it'll buy some favour with Colby, Tanya, Kenny, Sophie and Chase ... and I do think we may have these tribes for a while. So why divide it in half now?

On the other hand ... it would make sense for the six of us to stay together for now, and take out someone else later on. We'll see. It'll be interesting to see how this all plays out.

JT is crazy. He's super paranoid that Tanya now has some sort of Hidden Immunity Idol. Which I don't believe is true, at all. I may be naive, but, I truly doubt that Tanya has stumbled upon some sort of HII this early in the game.

Mikey and I don't care if Alex, Tanya or JT goes. We're willing to roll the dice. Part of me even wants to just vote out Alex. Why? It'll keep the tension between JT and Tanya alive, so I'm still under the radar ... Alex goes, which gets me closer with Colby/Sophie/Kenny as they'll feel more comfortable with our tribe, and I've built some trust with Tanya who may come in handy down the line.

If we switch it also stops the five new Nanguluwur people from telling everyone the six of us are in a huge alliance.

We decide to think about it.

Eventually it's decided that Chase goes, which as we know, Mikey likes Chase and doesn't want to give JT any more power. Turns out Chase is just a lap dog for Tanya/Kenny ... as everything Mikey/JT told Chase, he just gave back to Tanya. Chase let it slip to the other side we're considering voting Kenny out to blindside Tanya. So now, Chase is getting the vote and Tanya/Kenny/Chase think Kenny is going.

I don't like Tanya. She's aggressive, hot headed and has a temper. She first came at me to see who I was going to vote out, so I played along and said Alex. And I legitimately was considering Alex at the time.

Then I find out the whole Kenny / Chase / Tanya thing, and decide to take out Chase. And she just keeps at me and at me. I can't stand her. She's good to have around to have a common enemy, but damn, this girl needs to settle down. You're in a minority ... act like a normal person and kiss ass instead of pissing everyone off.

Kudos to her if she can get people on her side, but apparently Colby/Sophie are voting with us ... and even if they aren't ... Me/Alex/Lex/Mikey/JT/John are all voting together.

Alex and I finally talked. I was glad to see we were able to have somewhat of a cohesive conversation.

At the end of the day I guess it does make more sense to keep him around. He's going to be thankful and appreciative, and hopefully I can use that in the future. I don't think there is any true long lasting loyalty between us, but hey, maybe he'll remember that I threw him a bone once. And there's nothing wrong with being in a six person majority.
